Dear Friend's Marriage

So, one of my dearest friends is getting married!  Oh what a fun and exciting time in your life.  I should know, because Im experiencing it right now!  Mollie came into town today and we went to look at two wedding venues.  The first was the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art and the second was Moore's Mill Country Club.

Both were beautiful locations and really had a lot to offer space wise.  I am a little confused as to why Mollie and Josh are so dead set on Auburn when neither live here.  However, although our tastes and styles are polar opposites, I need to be the best friend, keep my mouth shut, support her, and only give my opinion when asked.....HA!  That is not easy for me to do....although I am trying my very best.  I tend to be one of those people who cannot hold their feelings inside, and must express how I feel about everything.  It is probably not the best quality I have, and therefore, I am working on it.

Mollie has been in my life and been one of my best friends since freshman year at Auburn.  We lived in the same apartment complex all through college, I have been there for her and she has been there for me.  It is so ironic that she is marrying a Josh whose mother happens to be named Cindy, when I am marrying a  Josh whose mother's name is Cindy!  What a COWINKYDINK!

I am truly happy for her and cannot wait to see how the next year pans out with her planning process and I told her I have no problem being the person to ask the awkward questions no one wants to ask because they don't want to come across rude.  I think every wedding can become tense and therefore, if she needs a tension breaker, I am her gal.  Currently she is living in Atlanta, and I miss her terribly and hope she moves back to Auburn for good, however Josh is in officer training for the military and the chances of them being here is very slim once his training is complete.

The house next door is close to being finished and we will get another set of neighbors.  Our neighborhood is booming and I am so glad we moved in when we did.  Our wedding invitations go out on Monday!  Can't wait to see who all responds back with no's and yes's.  The days are getting longer and the countdown is getting shorter.  I am so ready for warm weather as the days are beautiful just a little too chilly still for much activity outside.

Another topic I have been debating is whether or not to purchase a Kindle.  Anyone who knows me, knows I hate cell phones, I hardly ever answer mine.  I don't have a blackberry, which I insist on calling a blueberry for the mere fact you shouldn't name a phone after a fruit and I constantly argue that the reason people don't know how to RSVP to invitations or lack communication skills is because all communication is done via technology.  Anyway, you might wonder, for a person who doesn't like technology you seem to have a lengthy blog, but never the less I am considering buying a Kindle.

I love to read, however, I go through books so fast that I end up spending  fortune buying books and then my nightstand gets too full and I have to either sell or give away the books I have already read.  If I buy a Kindle I can buy books off Amazon and it stores close to 1000 or more at one time.  Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  If so, i'd love to hear them as I need to make a decision soon.  I went to Books A Million last night and spend $73.00 on books, half the price of a Kindle, and already read through one last night.

This is all for now, I am going to go crack open a beer and watch some NASCAR and wait to my beloved to come home.

Something that really touched me...

So yesterday at work, my coworker Sarah sent me a link to a you tube video.  It was Chris Medina's American Idol audition.  Now I don't know if any of you have seen this video or heard about this amazing honorable man.  If you haven't you need to watch the video link ill post below.

Anyway, the story is that Chris's fiancĂ©e was in a terrible car accident on October 2, 2009, just two months before they were to get married.  She suffered severe brain trauma and they still have yet to walk down the aisle.   She has made remarkable progress since her accident and it was amazing to hear what he says about her and his never ending love.  It really is a reality check that tomorrow is never guaranteed and we should say we love others as much as possible and be as happy as we can because it is so important.

I have been trying to live my life better ever since I found out some friends of mine from HS have passed in a car accident and this just justifies my philosophy that I don't want to put off tomorrow. I want to do everything I can to make others feel special and appreciated and loved today.

Seeing this video also made me think about Josh and our relationship.  Thinking about how hard it would be for me if this happened to him today, since we have two months to go till our wedding day.  To think about how much I love him and that my commitment to him is unbreakable and I know it would be so tough, but I would stick by him no matter what.  I hope others who have recently gotten married or are thinking about getting married, really think about the commitment because you never know what God will place in front of you, and your commitment and love will be tested.

Another day closer to Friday and one more week closer to the wedding.  I am so excited to marry the love of my life and my soul mate.  I still get butterflies every time I think and talk about him.  He is such, such, a great person and I am honored he chose me.

The Countdown Continues

The countdown continues towards the wedding day!  Josh and I had a great weekend, he worked on his car, we sold the mobile home, and I spent Saturday helping my mother-in-law find a dress for our wedding.  Since we did sell the mobile home, our next project is working on putting a garage on the house.  I am really pushing for Josh to get this because it will allow him to spend more time at home with me, instead of always driving out to his parents house to work on his mustang. :-)

Everything else has been going well. A few stressful things regarding the wedding and the bridal shower, but I feel that it will all work out in the end.  I know everyone has the best of intentions, I just find it amazing sometimes how pushing others can be about what they want, when the truth of the matter is, this wedding is about Josh and I.  About what we want, and although we want to make everyone happy, our vision for our wedding day should be the most important.  I think some people forget that and it can be a little upsetting.  However, I am maintaining my positive attitude and reminding myself that the day will be beautiful.

It is Sunday night and the Superbowl is on.  I have to say that I am most dissapointed in how the Steelers have been playing, however, I think that most of their downfall has been Roethlisberger's injuries.  He really hasn't been on his A-Game and it has shown in his playing tonight. Anyway, I mostly watch the Superbowl for the commercials and they have been pretty good.  Not going to lie.  However, what is going on with the "Cowboys and Aliens" movie???  As soon as I saw the preview I thought "AWESOME!" Daniel Craig, Olivia Wild, and Harrison Ford. This is going to be a great movie, and then all of a sudden, some weird silver thing comes flying from the corner of the screen and the movie was shot to hell.  Nevermind wanting to see that.

Really don't want to go to work tomorrow, and there is a 80% chance of rain..... I AM SO SICK OF THIS WEATHER AND THE RAIN!!!  Please!  I really want it to be warm.  I want to work outside on the landscaping and be a cute little housewife. But this weather just makes me feel depressed.  Hopefully the weather will change soon as Puxatony Phil didn't see his shadow and we should get an early spring.  Yay!!!  Bathingsuit season!

Well there is 0.49 seconds left in this Superbowl and it looks like the Packers have won.  Bummer...I was really rooting for the Steelers.  And my Pap Pap lost his $5.00 bet that the score would end in either "4" or "7" either way.  Oh well. War Eagle!  I will sign off for tonight and go cuddle with my amazing future husband.  I am so blessed and loved and cannot believe I have been given so much and God has given me such amazing blessings.

2010 BCS National Champions, Steeler's Football, And Much More!

Well we are now the 2010 National Champions!!  Cam is going to the NFL, so is Fairley, and many other amazing Auburn players.  I am so sad to see them go but I couldn't imagine staying either if I was a 6 foot 6 inch 240 lb man with an amazing smile!

The wedding countdown is 82 days!  I cannot believe it is coming so fast.  It is weird to think we have been engaged almost a year!  I am so excited to start off this summer with a new hubby and a new house!  Surrounded by friends who all live close by!  You know what that means....POOL DAYS!  I cannot wait to get some sun, drink some beer, eat hamburgers and laugh!

Over the past month or so, I have really been trying hard to laugh more and not take life so seriously.  I mean a job, sure it gives you some money in your pocket, but as far as letting it run your life, that is for the birds. I don't want to live my life upset, mad, or frustrated just because of a job.  Therefore, I have been looking at life as a bucket.  When I wake up in the morning I put my work bucket in my car and carry it around with me all day.  When I leave, I leave it at the door and won't pick it up until the next morning. Meaning no talk, discussion, or thoughts about work!  It has been working well so far.

So this past weekend, Josh and I worked on turning an old antique door into a headboard for our bed.  Talk about work!  It was a lot harder than I thought it would be.  It took us all Saturday and half a day Sunday to complete it.  I am so glad Josh is such a handy man, because I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to bolt the board to the bed frame, but he did it in less than 10 minutes. :-)

We left the original stain on the door, but matched the side posts to the door.  Below is a picture

It turned out beautifully and really completes the look of our bedroom!

Some other good news!  The Steeler's are going to the Superbowl!!!  I think it's February 16th and I cannot wait to cheer them on!

I hope to post more soon so keep following!

SEC Champions and National Championship Bound

WWWWAAAAARRRRRRR EEEEAAGGGGLLLLEEEE!!

We are SEC Champions!  What an amazing, wonderful season we have had! Not only has our season been off the charts, we are now going to Arizona to play for the National Championship.  Never in the history of football has two state schools gone back to back to the National Championship and never has two state schools have Heisman Trophy winners!

I know I haven't posted in awhile but nothing new and exciting has really happened. I went home for Thanksgiving and tried on my wedding dress!!! I DO NOT have to have ONE thing altered!!! I was shocked and so in love with my dress! I think I look really great!  I hope Josh thinks so.

Also bought a clip to go in my hair and can't wait to see how the whole look comes together.  I am so excited!

We watched the game at my friend Gina's house over the weekend, she lives in our neighborhood, along with so many other wonderful people we know!  It is really beginning to feel like the holidays and I can't wait for Christmas to get here!  We apply for our marriage license and meet with the officiant!

Still Undefeated!

So, I haven't posted anything in awhile because we have been so busy moving into our new house that there just hasn't been enough time to breathe, let alone write!

We moved in! Yay!  Everything is moved from the mobile home and it is clean, up, and ready for sale!  Now all we need is a buyer.  This past weekend was Homecoming and Josh and I went to the game using a co-worker's tickets. Mr. Burgess had amazing seats!  We had chair backs and everything! We got to cuddle in the seats and Cam Newton came over and waved at the crowd and we even got to do "The Wave"

After half-time we went downtown to prepare for the toilet paper and bought some pretty Auburn plates I have been eye-balling for months.
Aren't they gorgeous! Now I will be able to use them for the Georgia game when I cook for Josh and I!! :-)

I am sooooo ready for the Georgia game and the Alabama game!  I worry about the Alabama game, not because of our team, but because Ill be watching it with my family, and they tend to think that my whooping and hollering is unnecessary when in fact I cannot help myself.  I am even more excited about the Alabama game because I will be trying on my wedding dress for the first time, two hours before the game!

I haven't put it on since I ordered in back in March! I know it is the right dress because I forced my granny and my mom to go to Savannah and look at it when it finally came in. (hehehe) They really are the best!

Nothing more exciting than what I have shared and will continue to blog when time allows and more exciting things develop in my life :-)  Josh and I are so lucky and so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives and we cherish every one of them.
